It seems to me that some movies are strong on material, some have great dialogue or great acting, while others are cinematically breathtaking. Certain movies do such a great job of portraying a wide range of human emotions through the subject and characters, that it causes you to identify how you feel watching it. Blood Diamond is one such movie that is so heart-wrenching that you have to first come to grips with what you are seeing before you process what it’s about.

Plot

The demand for diamonds comes from America and Western Europe. The supply of diamonds comes from Africa. The work to mine these diamonds comes from African slaves, made up of kidnapped children and families forced to work the mines.
