We emphasize the ‘priesthood of all believers’ (1 Pet. 2:5) through the mutual interaction and participation of every member, that all may benefit from each person functioning in the capacity God has called them to. (Eph. 4:12).
We believe that a community of believers meeting together in a large gathering and small groups best facilitates biblical discipleship (Acts 2:42-47) and provides a safe, accessible place for believers and unbelievers alike to encounter the Living God. These communities are not a reaction against traditional churches; rather they are a response to what we believe the Spirit of God is doing right now (Matt. 9:17).
We believe in Autonomy with Accountability. Every small group has the freedom to create a unique expression of their own community while remaining vitally connected to the rest of the Church. As different members of the same body (1 Cor. 12:12), the function of each group stays the same, while the forms will vary. (1 Cor. 9:22, 12:4, 20). |
